Some people today are deciding to donate their bodies to science.
The Anatomical Gift Act allows people the opportunity to donate
their dead human remains so that people in the medical profession can
learn.
The body is embalmed with a strong phenol solution and is usually distributed
to an educational facility for dissection. After the dissection of the
body is
completed by the educational facility, the cadaver is cremated and returned
to the family. It is possible to hold traditional funeral services for
people who
choose this type of disposition. Additional options are also available
to
facilitate a memorial visitation or memorial service.
